I have it running complete with thumbnail pictures of each person on
my Dell netbook, and thanks to Dropbox, it syncs with Legacy on my
main computer. I have the deluxe version of Legacy on both.
See the Legacy Users Group archives for more info regarding Dropbox.

If you make it a rule first to rename the 'Myancestors.fdb' on your
desktop 'Myancestors.yymmdd' before you copy across from your flash
drive, then you don't overwrite it, you are making a copy alongside it

I am able to avoid all these issues by keeping my main Legacy file and
Pictures on a USB drive plugged into my desktop. That way when I
switch to my laptop all I have to do is plug in the USB drive and all
the files are availble.
When you do this you have to do several things initially. The first
We recently discussed this. Take a look at the archives, it has many

I agree Ginny, but I was told by LegacySupport that you can update your

.
As I mentioned in my original answer on this thread, I've been using Legacy on
a netbook, syncing with Dropbox, for several months now with no problems.

I am also very happy with my frequent use of Legacy 7 deluxe, plus Dropbox
on my Dell mini as well as my main computer.
You will need to go back to early 2009 for the archived posts about dropbox.

Works beautifully on my Windows XP based Asus Eee. It's the best tool I've
ever had for on-site research in courthouses and
Works great. My Asus Netbook does not have a CD drive (I don't think
any of them do), but I got around that my making the Netbook part of
my Network. That way, I can map to another computer's CD drive and
use that if i have to.

I do have Legacy on my Netbook and it works well - although I keep the main
copy on the laptop. I use the netbook for when I can sit with it on my lap
at night and fiddle gently - the only thing to remember is to make changes
on both if necessary.
