It's been a long time since I went from an older version to 7, and now from 7
to 8. Is there an easy way to transfer data and media files from 7 to 8? I have
a lot of census images, as well as docs and photos, and hate to think that I
have to start from the beginning again.

Just open your v7 file in v8, and you will see prompts to save a copy
(or backup) of your v7 file, so a new one is created for v8 while
leaving the v7 one unchanged. Everything will be transferred with it.
Give your v8 file a different name, or put it in a different folder, so
you know which is

We must have different setups that create a difference, then. My images
were in place when I opened the v8 file without having to do anything to
find them.
Perhaps someone else can help with this problem for Roxanne?
