I also checked that UseOpenGL, ForceOpenGl and UseOpenCL flags are set to
"false".
Maybe those flags are not taken into account and the graphic card is switched
on anyway.

I get the same crash with macbook pro mid 2010 with discrete graphic card.
Mine's is nvidia geforce 330M.
I can switch on the discrete graphic card by lauching Photos. After that the
libreoffice works well.

I do not use any scaling, all screens are set to Best for display. The external
screen is physically about 4 times bigger than the 13" lid, so the larger
number of pixels results in roughly same DPI anyway.
