I think the toolbars either should be gray (to follow Mac OS X’s theme) or
should use the same background gradient used under Windows. Both options would
be a lot better than the current status quo.

And also please see that, even in 3.6.x, when I dock the toolbars to the side,
docked toolbar has no border (4th screenshot).

I agree that this is a bit annoying, what's more is, I see a similar problem
with the Adwaita theme (of Gnome 3.6) on Linux now. (Using a master
build/4.1pre from this Friday)

Maybe I expect too much without contributing that much, but sometimes I am
