Here is an easy way to reproduce these kinds of bugs. There are other bugs that

I hope this is resolved in 7.1+, which is a long way to go before release.
User that reproduced again did do in special case.
We don't know where was change, so called reverse bibisect was inconclusive.

The frustrating part of this bug is it's not an "every time" bug. It will
