Hey Jorge,
I reflected on the uses of this - your actually right, this would be
super useful. I know your into your math algorithms and stuff... any
thoughts on a system to keep URL's short?
Cheers, Tim

ESME is an open-source Enterprise-focussed microblogging system
written in Scala on Lift. Please see http://blog.esme.us/ for more
details, and http://incubator.apache.org/esme to get to the source
code etc.

We do it in ESME. It's 1 class (the model) and 1 object.

Hey Jorge,
Im not sure I 100% follow what your saying - are you proposing
creating a widget that actually has a shortening algorithm? IMO, isnt
it better to not re-invent the wheel and use an existing service?
(take advantage of their short domain names etc)
What are your thoughts on the blockin
What about easily turning any lift app into a url shortener service?
Wouldn't be too hard...
Granted, some services (bit.ly) add statistics, visualization, conversation
tracking, etc. which aren't just url shortening.
