Hi,
In the 2.2.0 documentation, in the appendix describing all

There is an intrinsic difference between creating a type setting.
Truthfully creation lend itself to paper and pencil best. Typesetting
seems to work the best for me at least in a nongraphical format like

You may have the cygwin bug which can cause this failure.
1. If you open a command prompt at test.ly's folder and type
start /B test.ly
you will get some more message which you can send here to let us help you.
2. You can try installing 2.2.0 from my homepage:

Hi,
I work with lilypond on winXP for two years (and I am very happy with it)
Each time I install an new version of lilypond (thanks to Bert for his
packages),
my files associations (with XEmacs on Cygwin) are changed to the
unpracticable 'Edit Source with Notepad'.
I know that windows' users
It is true that the association settings are not optimal. We still not
decided what to do.
One possible solution would be to ensure that there is no other association
set.
It can be done via postinstall-lilypond.sh, using the cygwin regtool
command.
I think the first would be to find optimal

Yes, that is done by the postinstall-lilypond.sh script (in
/etc/postinstall, I think).

I'm pretty new to Lilypond but have been toying with ABC for a while now

Anyway to cut a long ramble short, I noticed that ABC's idea of beaming
wasn't preserved in Lilypond so I've modifed the
