At the end of this mail I have included the ly source of the first two
measures of Fauré's Cantique de Jean Racine as I have written them in
lilypond version 2.2.0
As a test I ran lilypond to see what it would look like... there are two
things that I see that I would really love to change:

I have been using this beamed length as a list stuff a number of times,
and after fiddling with values, I end up getting what I need. It is a
fairly common question though. Perhaps it would be worth the trouble
to include a couple of examples with extreme values for the list
as in:

Hi again,
Sorry again, in 2.2.6 I believe it would be:
\override Staff.TimeSignature #'transparent = ##t

be (different than I wrote before):
\set Score.TimeSignature #'transparent = ##t
Cheers,

Hi Gordon,
I'm not aware if someone has already answered. Anyways, you can add this line
to staff for which you want no time signature. It makes it transparent.
\property Score.TimeSignature \set #'transparent = ##t
Hope it works,

The examples in the documentation portray the placing of finger
numbers after notes as respectable. If you look at this file, which
has left hand fingering well done, you will see that it is not. I
don't think you can find a single instance of a finger number directly
after a note. There is only

Hello,
Could you walk me through some troubleshooting steps? I downloaded and
installed Fink to my iBook PowerPC G3 running OS X 10.3.7; then used
FinkCommander v. 0.5.3 to install Lilypond binary 2.2.5.
I created a test file in a text editor, as instructed. Then, in
Darwin, entered the comma

I can answer that one since I almost make the same mistake installing it
today :)
For some reason, when I first select to install Lilypond, version 2.2 will
show up for install; I need to click again to get version 2.4. I assume
it's the same thing that happened.
