Well, that's one way to cut down on all that annoying customer noise!

Hi Andrew,
Absolutely, supporting other versions is on my TODO list, and I'll post
back here when it's done.
I used the term "unstable" because I saw the term "unstable development
versions" [1] on the Lilypond website (e.g., at
http://lilypond.org/development.html), not because I have had
Hi Joshua,
There was a thread recently about the use of the term 'unstable'. The 2.19
line at the present state of development is not unstable, quite the
opposite. It's a self deprecating term of open source modesty that has the
negative effect of making people think this line should be avoided.
Hi Urs and All,
A totally successful install on a new Ubuntu 17.10 pristine image. All
works fine as per the source installations now updated.
A large vote of thanks to all who untangled this ball of wool. Despite a
lifetime of software development experience, I kept going round in circles
and
Knute,
That is correct. Only 2.18.2 is currently supported. In the future,
Hacklily may look for a "version" statement and use an unstable version
if needed.

Thanks a lot. I followed your suggestion for the extender lines and it solved
the issue.
BTW, I have completed the PM snippet and it works nicely. I'll share it after I
have it tested some more.
Anyone interested?

Thanks,
I'll take a closer look at the EH notation and see if I can alter it.

Hi -
I'm running Ly 2.19.80 with Frescobaldi 2.18.1 under Linux Ubuntu 16.04.

I've done a new iteration on the Wiki page. I've also added a concise
walkthrough at the end that leaves out all the explanations and
considerations, so it's easier to get an impression what has actually to
be done.
