There are 555 *eps-files, 92 *ly files, and 184 *tex* files in the
outputdirectory.
Because this error occure more than once, I ask myself if there are any limits
on open files in lilypond-book, or that there is a non-documented feature
(aka as a bug) in play.

sizes (heights) are smaller coming from lilypon-book.

fonts) whereas -P generates PostScript output with bitmap fonts.
Look at your /usr/(local/)share/lilypond/1.8.0/fonts if there are "afm"
and "tfm" fonts...

I'd simply like it to be as large as the textwidth. I have had a good result
by manually inserting a slightly shorter line-width (2mm less than the
textwidth) in the paper block.

thanks for your advise. I have found that in fact I have to adjust the
line-width file by file. Most of the times when a file has multiple lines
lilypond-book works fine, the problem arises when I have single lines which
lilypond doesn't split in two lines but which are too full

ok, and acroread shows that the cadence font is embedded.
If I include the same .ly file in my LaTeX-file by using
\lilypondfile{...}
and process this by lilypond-book, I got errors like the following:
Layout nach »./3f/lily-c4c745f6.eps« ausgeben...

score that uses the cadence font, everything is
ok, and acroread shows that the cadence font is embedded.
If I include the same .ly file in my LaTeX-file by using
\lilypondfile{...}
and process this by lilypond-book, I got errors like the following:

for the cadence font.
