Sigh...
My ISP accepted to run SMUS 3.0, but when they realized it takes 98%
processor on a Windows 2000, PIII 1GHz they removed it. This is with
NO traffic at all - just running the server.
It seems odd. When I run it on a Mac on my LAN it doesn't affect the
performance of the computer at

Thanks for chicking this Neil,
The ISP stated that administering the server got considerably slower
after starting the SMUS. I'm not sure, but I _think_ they mean
administering via a www/ browser interface.
I still sounds fishy though.

I checked on my Mac (antique Powerbook, 500 MHz, G3). The OS lends
SMUS about 25% of CPU time, but that's not what it actually _uses_,
if i start some other applications the SMUS amount decreases.

I seem to recall there are Xtras that can -- Buddy API might be one, in
fact -- you can hit the list at
To be efficient, I am using Director's shape tools to create parts of my
interface. There are also graphics that I created in Photoshop that
butt up
against the shapes made in Director. As you have probably have
experienced,
they don't match so well.
Hmm. Are the PSD files saved under

want the new sprite to have a bit of exitFrame functionality, but no

So,

As stupid as it sounds, is there any way I can see the amount of memory an

I'm just curious.

Multiply the width by the height by the color depth. That's the number
of bits
Thanks tons -- I guess I'll have to figure out a different way I think
-- there could be up to 50 different sprites under the covers waiting
for mouse direction. I could cycle through them to see if the clickloc
intersects w/ their rectangles, but that seems rather intensive? dunno
maybe not
Ah - see, I don't want a mouse event in this sprite -- i just want it
automatically passed to a lower channel sprite that has a mouse event
(like it would if i attached a similar sprite by dragging on the stage
or score).
If, in authoring, you have in sprite 1 a box w/ a mouse Enter handle

Keeping the Lingo Dictionary within reach in the bathroom can be quite rewarding:

Or for non-NT-branch windows, StormWindows will do it (along with lots more).

I think I recall reading in the Windows 2000 Online Help about the
Ctrl-Alt-Del combination being recognised only by Windows. Which is why
WinNT/2K workstations ask users to press that combo before showing the log
