There's a new feature on z/VM 6.2, that defines a CHPID appropriate for
virtualization, named CHPIDV. Once you define that (OPTION CHPIDV ONE),
z/VM will test the possibility of using zHPF outside the Guest: if the
environment is appropriate, TCW calls will be made; if not, CCW (non zHPF)
I can answer the part about SLES 10.
Those happily ignore whatever else is going on on the box with zHPF.
