Ran out of space when applying RSU

Hi, This is the first time to apply RSU after having a z/VM SSI Cluster system successfully built. When I logged on as maint630 and ran several commands as shown below: q disk LABEL VDEV M STAT CYL TYPE BLKSZ FILES BLKS USED-(%) BLKS LEFT BLK TOTAL MNT191 191 A R/W 175 3390 4096

Hi, Ray. Have you already applied the 630RSU1 to the system? If you have, then you can delete it from the 500 mdisk. Have a good one, too. DJ On 11/17/2014 02:29 PM, Chu, Raymond wrote: > Hi, > > This is the first time to apply RSU after having a z/VM SSI Cluster > system successfully built. Wh

Ray, Also, an option that I use is to place the tersed file in Shared File System or another minidisk and make the MAINT630.500 the output for the DETERSE command; i.e. have the input and output on separate disks. -Original Message- From: Linux on 390 Port [mailto:LINUX-390@VM.MARIST.EDU

It came with the z/VM installation. I ran the "q cplevel" command and had the following q cplevel z/VM Version 6 Release 3.0, service level 1302 (64-bit) Generated at 08/07/13 11:42:58 UTC What I

You can put the RSU file anywhere you want, it don't need to be on 500. On Mon, Nov 17, 2014, 18:46 Dave Jones wrote: > Hi, Ray. > > Have you already applied the 630RSU1 to the system? If you have, then > you can delete it from the 500 mdisk. > > Have a good one, too. > > DJ > > On 11/17/2014 02

If you don¹t want to move the file(s) out of 500, what¹s the issue with relocating 500 and making it bigger? I had to do that with several of the default disks on systems throughout the years, and never ran into any huge issues. Make a new, larger disk. Copy the contents of the old disk to the new

It seems I have already had the latest RSU. I followed an IBM document with this "VMFBTMAP ALL" command under maint ID to generate a z/VM service reports to list the fixes install on z/VM systems, it reported the following errors: VMFBTMAP ALL

It all depends on if you have DirMaint up and running, or you’re still working from your original source directory. From the source directory, run dirmap (I think; I no longer have a system to try on…) to map out the space on your volumes. On the volume where 500 is now, there’s likely free space

While your statement is technically correct, it is best to use 500 as the mdisk with RSU's, ptf's, etc. That being said, the user should move 500 to a larger area, some place with approx. 1500 cylinders. Steve -Original Message- From: Linux on 390 Port [mailto:LINUX-390@VM.MARIST.EDU] O

It must be an outdated IBM document. I can successfully run the " VMFBTMAP ALL" command under maint630 id and now I can have a smaller customized RSU for z/VM system. Thanks, Ray -Original Message- From: Chu, Raymond Sent: Monday, November 17, 2014 4:25 PM To: LINUX-390@VM.MARIST.ED

Robert, Thanks for your steps. I use MOD9 and the z/VM MAINT630 does have lots of space at the end to expand. Thanks, Ray -Original Message- From: Linux on 390 Port [mailto:LINUX-390@VM.MARIST.EDU] On Behalf Of Nix, Robert P. Sent: Monday, November 17, 2014 4:49 PM To: LINUX-390@VM
