Yes. Getting the SMC RFC accepted by the IETF has been a challenge since it mucks with the tcp layer in ways that make people nervous. And in order to implement SMC you need to change the common code, not just the s390x tree. Alan Sent from my iPhone using IBM Verse

I was hoping to use it between zLinux NFS server and z/OS NFS Client... and also ftp between the twobut it sounds like I'm out of luck...no support for zLinux. So my choices are: 1. Hipersocket 2. Shared OSA Correct ? From: Dave Myers Sent: Friday, June 02, 2017 12:04 PM

Thanks Shannon and Harley. I'll pass this onto our big fix people! Good to know it can be beaten into better behavior (although that should be the default out of the box !) -Original Message- From: Linux on 390 Port [mailto:LINUX-390@VM.MARIST.EDU] On Behalf Of Collinson.Shannon

We are too. According to my BigFix guy, he created a "group and site with auto-membership based on the OS-name" that throttled the cpu the clients are allowed to use (.5% in our case--looks like Harley's folk let them have a little more) and restricted gathering the inventory to what we

Marcy, are you actually seeing that or are you predicting that? I am informed that BigFix (ILMT) does not poll z at the same frequency as x86. Alan Sent from my iPhone using IBM Verse On Jun 2, 2017, 1:54:39 PM, marcy.d.cor...@wellsfargo.com wrote: From:

I am. The team that manages BigFix on the x86 server tweaked a setting so that it didn't check the z servers quite as often. The change they made, which they didn't tell me what it was, reduced the CPU percentage to .7 per server. Harley -Original Message- From: Linux on 390 Port

aka BESClient We're seeing 1-2% cpu per guest. While that's not a big deal on a x86 standalone box, it's a big deal on a box with 400 servers on it. Hoping it's tunable... Marcy This message may contain confidential and/or privileged information. If you are not the addressee or authorized

Hi, Maggie!! Are there still spots available in your performance class? I'm very interested in attending. I could, of course, just stand in the hall and listen through the door jamb...Anyway, let me know if you have spots, and what you will be covering in the class. Thanks!! R; Rob
