You can move DB2 for VM and VSE (old version 7.5) to Linux machine running under z/VM in same or other LPAR to a more modern version of DB2. More tools, more facilities will be available to DB2 administrator. Doing this, you will get back some mips used to run DB2 under z/VM and zVSE and Linux/
