gotten to the screen titled Creating Filesystems. It lists several F-key
choices at the bottom, but only F6

On my system, I have to do a control-F followed by a 4 to get
F4. Try that.
another good trick is to raise the delay for ESC. For example type
export ESCDELAY=1 and start yast after that. Now you should be able
to use the functionkeys also in a telnet-session.
