The problem with PLIP in ELKS will be finding XTs with bi-directional
parallel ports.
And finding 8-bit parallel add-on cards that support bi-directional
transfers.
You only need bi-directional parallel ports for byte-mode transfers. If you're willing
to settle for nibble-mode transfers
