Is it elitist for a programmer to

Michel Danzer has just donne a patch to export an ioctl for the retrace
interrupt on the Radeons though, but that's a new development.
For video overlay surfaces it's a bit easier: most cards can page flip
their overlay surfaces easily. So, you won

h. I'm on his side against open source

One last thought, I bet his 'kickass app' will still include the 303
emulation and the drum machines, so you need not worry so much about
losing all those precious lines of source code.

Woohoo, so we have no right to complain every post about not releasing
source.

Please send me your attempt then, I'd like to hear it.

Ah ok, I'll take my snobby ain't-no-303 comments over there.

rt though. My biggest complaint is totally on getting the
303 to sound authentic.
Oh, and then the whole licensing thing. Clearly the author has no
intention of releasing this under a free license, as commercial
reselling is denied explicitly even for this binary release.

't see the large number of hobbyist programmers
becoming product manager hobbyists any time soon, despite how badly the
linux userbase wants that. :)

al_ that I be able to edit the music as it's playing: start
looping one pattern and tweak it until I like it.
Different styles for different types of music really. I also think it's
because when I started writing music, it was using either a tracker or a

the documentation seems to indicate that too. It's also not too difficult
once you get the hang of it. :)
But having compilers that can use it where appropriate (like icc
can) can also be helpful.

There's lots of code floating around to detect cpu type in the
code. See mm_accel() and friends, and ask [EMAIL PROTECTED] for his
work on speciallib.
Plugins shouldn't be any different than programs, they can just as
easily determine CPU type.

now I do all my sweeps live since, well, it makes a cool show. :)
I totally agree with your rant about interfaces. I wanted a sequencer
as reliable and simple as a hardware sequencer.
