its however really causing headaches on the host side. the default host
lib should provide some means to convert linear/logarithmic properly.

the trusty header should be all documentation required... there was also
no reference to additional documents in it. how about adding it? :o)

how are parameter boundaries determined now? are all parameters clamped
to 0..1 (as vst does)? if yes, shouldnt this b
host with ease (yes, people do not like
to fix orphaned code and recompile binaries, imagine!).
furthermore, DSSI builds upon ladspa. a ladspa 2 enforces also a DSSI 2.
again, looking at the slight changes that ladspa underwent, i dont see
what the big fuzz is about.

i'm aware of that. but that only means its not good for production code,
but its fine for prototyping, as i already stated.

g very very successful, while "mozilla" isn't.
i think one of the major reasons why firefox catched on is that the name
sounds a lot better and that it came with a cute logo.
simply by finding a good name, you can already save a lot of energy that you'd
waste with hyping and marketing.
i'll try to contact the vorbis people. maybe they can try a spin off :)

le. its still living off this
fame. there has not been a real reason to switch to anything else because it
was and still is "good enough". ogg vorbis is, in terms of quality, only
"marginally" better.
the problem is the name. it does not at all suggest that ogg vorbis is the new
mp3. it's as simple as that. no marketing, no world domination.

you have to chop up
and merge the blocks that the lib gives you.
if a lib guarantees to always mix as many samples as i require, it is
out-of-the-box ready for blockwise streaming, even with small blocks of data.
