I've got the same problem, it seems to be an error in the makefile.
Another problem was solved by including "-D_GNU_SOURCE" to the makefile
rule. See the attached diff...

No, we are using .rpm for the binary packages, too. As far as I know the
only difference is the extension of the source packages: RH uses .srpm and
we are using .spm (to fit the old "8.3" scheme that allows the user to do
an installation from DOS partitions).
