Well, without spending the time I should thinking about my answer, I'll say
there are many things which impact performance, most of which we've seen
talked about here:
1 - how fast can you get dat

could get 1 gbit/sec (or maybe gByte?) xfer, and you could go 1000 meters -

(I went and looked at the archive of this list at

and it only went through Jan 2000, so not only do I not know if
my posting got in, I cannot check to see what answers may have
