I have been using Linux 2.2.x and RAID 1 happily.
Because of netfilter, I must move to Linux 2.3.15 or higher. It seems that
RAID 1 was disabled from 2.3.15 and above. The only options available are
Raid 0 or Linear. Even in the kernels where RAID1 is an available option,
2.3.25 for example,
Is raid 0.90 in the 2.3 kernels, or do you still need to patch?
Sorry if this has been discussed before...

Still need to patch... For whatever reasons, the distributed raw kernel
source isn't up to date for raid... Kernels from Redhat (RPM's)
Hello everybody,
due to the fact that I'm new in the group, let me put a propably silly
question:
- Will raidtools 0.90 work any longer with Kernel 2.3.x?
- Are there propably some whitepapers of the authors somewhere?
Thank you for your answers.
Best regards

Hi,
I've just compiled the 2.3.32 kernel (moving up from 2.2.5), but when I
try and use it it doesn't autodetect/run my RAID-1 partitions, which
happens to be my root fs, hence its unable to mount /.
I'm using make menuconfig and under "Block Devices" there used to be an
option called
Title: RE: Where has the Autodetect RAID partitions option in the 2.3.x kernels gone?
I do not belive that the raid 0.90 has been ported to the 2.3 series of kernels yet.

I would prefer to compile a 2.3.13+ kernel in order to get the most out
of my Matrox G400 (dual) graphics card. However, I have a system booting
off a raid 0 partition, so I need the new-style raid. There does not seem
to be raid0145 patches for 2.3 kernels and patching the 19990824 version

Just get the Alan Cox patches from your favorite kernel.org mirror, a
clean 2.2.13 kernel tree, and apply. No failures, just good clean
raiding.
Is it in fact the case that the pre-patch-2.2.14-11 (released today) patch
has the latest raid drivers in it? That sure seems to be what you are
Hello,
I am looking for a kernel patch for the 2.3.x series of raid0145, but I
haven' t found one. The lastest patch I found is against 2.2.11. Are there
any new version of the 'new' raid drivers for recent development kernels ?
Thx,
Tom

Not yet, no.

Hi All,
I was wondering what the state of raid was in the 2.3.x kernel series.
I am currently using 2.2.12 with a raid 0 setup which is
automatically detected at boot (by the kernel - fd partitions). If I go to
the latest 2.3 kernel (upgrading according to the Changes file along the
