FWIW, it has been documented at least twice on this list that a RAID5
with no hot-spare can lose two drives and it will keep going... the
two typical lines in the syslog are like:
raid5: D

I've replaced drive 4 with a fresh drive. (Seagate Medalist drives are the
bane of my existance).
So, at this point, I've seen the messages regarding
