did you patch the kernel 2.2.16 with the raid patch?
take a look at the file /proc/mdstat
if that file has the word 'inactive' in it, then you need to patch your
kernel.
look at www.redhat.com/~mingo/
for patches.

I have a few problems regarding my software RAID0 solution. I have two
disks, hdb and hdd, on a raid0 array. Everything was working fine until I
upgraded my kernel (from 2.2.12 to 2.2.16). Yes, support for RAID is
compiled in the kernel. On bootup, I get :
EXT2-fs warning: mounting unchecked
Hi!
Just did an upgrade of my 0.5 raid to raid0145-19990824, kernel 2.2.12.
Migration of raid1 succeeded with no problems. raid0 makes trouble.
Whenever I do a mkraid /dev/md1 I get:
disk 0: /dev/sdc9, 618471kB, raid superblock at 618368kB
/dev/sdc9 appears to contain an ext2 filesystem -- use -f

True ;)

Hello
I'm having some problems with RAID0 on a RedHat 5.1 with kernel 2.0.35 here. I've
downloaded a fresh 2.0.35 kernel,
patched it with raid0145-19981005-C-2.0.35 patch from the alpha
dir,recompiled/rebooted, downloaded raidtools-
19981005-B-0.90.tar, compiled it per instructions (/autogen.
