Ack! Nevermind, I am still getting read erorrs, although not nearly as
frequently (and on different files this time). I guess the only course of
action is to chuck this card out the window and buy one based on a different
chipset.

Well, another update here. I did the old PCI card shuffle (moved the USB 2.0
card to a different slot, and also removed a PCI ethernet card I had in
there, opting to use the builtin ethernet), and so far everything seems to be
working fine. I have been able to dd the problem files, and have

Hi all,
I'm new to this list. Please don't hurt me. m(_)m
I've got a weird problem with one of my USB storage devices (a Trekstor
MP3 player which supports USB2). When I connect it to the computer while
the ehci_hcd module is loaded, some part of the USB subsystem seems to
freeze indefinitely.

Hi all,
I just baught using an ultra mini portable Disk hard disk enclouse Part#
ULT31310 from www.tigerdirect.com without knowing whether it is supported by
linux or not. I can use it with WinXp without any problem. On
www.ultraproducts.com site, they don't seem to have drivers for linux. I
Hi, thanks for helping w/ this.
Here is usbmon output when I connect plain HUB (There is embedded USB

That all looks just the way it should.

That's strange.
Try using the usbmon facility. It's described in t

Yes indeed. This looks very similar to the problem reported in

See especially comment #19.
It's possible that the patch adding an HID reset routine (the last
attachment in the bug report) will work for you. You might have to fiddle
with it a
I'd return it to be safe.

I've never heard of anything like you have before. Normally they all work.
Well, ones with VIA chips can be problematic, generally those are on
motherboards though.

Hello,
Recently I decided I wanted to repartition my hard drive, so I copied a lot of
data to an external USB 2.0 hard drive, repartitioned the internal drive, and
began copying data back over. I didn't experience any issues at all when
copying all that data to the drive, but I kept getting I/
