U, I'm on Jetstart (128k symetrical) with paradise as my ISP and I

so whats wrong with this?
grep "nick\t" file ; or
grep nick\t file ; or
grep nick\x09 file ; or
any other damn variation I try!
Don't you need the -e flag?
