Get your Linux fixed. Or is that a BIOS problem? I have never observed
such lockups, of course I probably have different hardware.

I run my ipod mini off Linux no problem. You need to download an iTunes
equivalent - gtkpod or gnupod are ok but have drawbacks ( podcasting
mainly ). However, the ipod does seem to lock up when I'm out running (
well, waddling really ), and only removal of the battery will reset it.

Paula wants one. We had a couple of no-name brand units which have both failed
within 2 years. Two sons has an I-Pods, the other son has a Creative unit.
Any list members have recommendations for Linux friendly units.
