This turned out to be trivial. I connected the drive to my ubuntu
system, force mounted it as ntfs-3g (it always seems to be scheduled
for a check and has to be forced to mount). Then used nautilus to
change the name of the directory!

Hey all.
For some strange reason my vmware server was totally frozen and
non-responsive from about 14:20 to 20:00. This meant that horse was not
responding either.
It's all fixed now, but I'll watch it.
