Folks,
I have been noticing words such as 'nice values' and 're-nicing' and am
wondering what it means.
Anyone explain it for me?

I am using a debian distro, lindows. On startup some default firewall
rules are generated with iptables. These rules not quite what I want. I
cannot find a configuration file for these rules. Could someone tell me
if such a file exists and where?

You can also grab the latest GCC bits from sources.redhat.com:

The only error I get is IO error reading file. There is nothing in
/var/log/messages.
If I try to open with xv I get "bus error."
I don't think I have DMA enabled for the cdrom. I will
have to look into that.

It is a Win2K server.
Thanks.
In Harmony's Way,
The easiest way is to do ntp. Make sure the Time Service is started on Win2k
(assuming Win2k Server here, not sure Pro can do this) then set up your ntp
client as you would for Unix timesync. It works the same way.

Folks,
For esoteric reasons I need to be able to synchronize time between my linux
laptop and a windows 2k box that are connected via ethernet. This is a
private network that is not connected to the internet. Does anyone have a
script that will get the time from the windows box?

I have a Pockey 30GB USB drive. To use it under Linux ..
Add something like this to /etc/fstab
/dev/sda1 /mnt/pockey vfat noauto,user 0 0
Create the mount point
mkdir /mnt/pockey
Then mount the drive
mount /mnt/pockey
The sda1 will change if you already have SCSI drives.
All must be done as root,

Hi,
You have LinuxCAD (www.linuxcad.com). The web site claims it's (at
least somewhate) compatible with AutoCAD.
Disclaimer: I haven't "touch" a CAD program in about 13 years. I'm
absolutely *not* updated on this subject :)

What are the errors?? This is like pulling teeth here. Maybe your CDROM
drive needs to have DMA turned on?
