everythign mostly validates, the blogs in the right hand column are
imported by using a php script to check to see if there are new blogs
or not, and the validation errors are in there... So if anyone out
there is good with php and can tell me why this line doesn't think it
needs a
browsercam is always an option but you only get screenshots so not great for
testing out functionality...

from my experience with these kind of issues they can be fixed with assigning fixed widths to each div (whether in px or em).another thing to try and avoid is using width: 100% on anything as IE can have problems with this (may need to use a hack or two to hide this from IE)its a bit of a stinker
i love the apachefriends installation - it rocks!

they can also be of great value to screen reader users, they read through
the page and maybe want to have a look through the rest of your site.
now you could provide a skip link at the bottom of each article to take them
back to the main navigation OR you could provide the footer containing
personally I would go with the dl option, though would structure it:
dl
dtActivity breaks/dt
ddblah/dd
ddblah/dd
ddblah/dd
/dl
one point about applying a hover state to this - it'll won't work in IE6 and
below (though I do think this has been fixed in IE7 = yay!)
to get this effect to work in
basically the only thing you can apply hover to for it to work in IE6 is an
acnhor element
to supply it to anything else you have to rely on scripting :
equally you could just take the view that the rollover only really proves an
additional feature and is therefore OK that only 'modern'

I had this problem back when we redesigned our University homepage (though it
was an IE5 only prob).
It was eventually fixed by removing a width: 100% property from a container
element.
I'm really sorry - I don't have too much time right now to check your code
you may also want to listen to the @media podcast from Dave Shea about web
typography - he basically outlines the 10 safest fonts to use including Arial,
Lucida Grande,Verdana,Trebuchet and (gasp) Comic Sans!

You touched a good argument for another discussion though. People do
tend to rely on massive libraries though. The solution would be to
centralise the libraries on one server and ask people to use these
URLs instead, then they'd be cached on the first page they are used
and subsequently
very true indeed - thankfully our IT manager let me have admin rights on my
first day :
lets be honest the first thing I did was download iTunes and y! messenger but
AFTER that I got the important stuff.
definately can't let anyone download anything they want though - that would be
chaos!
you can have the same image but if you do you need to change the background
position - the one image will have three different states for your link
states and you move the background position up or down to show the correct
ones.
I can't remember the link to the article explaining it
You shouldn't need a strong emphasis - the dt (definition title) implys that it
has a relevance to the dd () below it and is indeed the title for it.
If you just want it bold you can style it that way in the CSS - which I am sure
you know already.

I think the default indent is a bit more than 5px - give 20px or even 30px a
try and it should start looking a bit more normal
