When I first got thinking about EV's I spent a lot of time designing a
charging system and thinking about the best ways to keep AGM batteries
balanced. The plan was a bunch of small chargers for each battery that
operated from a common supply and a bulk charger on the whole string. The

Try specifying your motor as 180 VDC which is standard industrial voltage.
On 144 volts it will run at 1440 RPM so use a different pulley
You might also want to consider a 230 Volt 3 phase motor and a 1.5 HP
inverter designed for 120 VAC operation which will run on 144VDC.
