I've never had a problem checking in at Bimini with any kind of crowd.
Once one of the officers was at lunch, and we just waited on the boat
and when he came back from lunch the marina people told us that he was
back. But I wouldn't regard that as a problem.
Bimini and West End are both popular
I wouldn't advise Chubb either, but you do have to pass it on the way to Nassau.
Some people check in on Andros and there you don't have to pay for a marina
because I don't think there is one, but you have to have a dinghy to do that.

Herb's signals have been exclusively shortwave. Earlier in the summer
he was off for a short period and we have not tried to monitor him
since arrival in England at the end of July.
I know of no way to get any of the transmissions except via shortwave
