If you want a good basis for comparison, I would recommend you illustrate a
good basic comparison. :)

Not sure I will bother with the component but instead use it as headline for
the different tables like the wiki does it.

I wrote two bash scripts to fetch and extract these dependencies...
Assuming the libraries are compatible with mingw, perhaps it can get you
closer to using mingw to compile... :)

First run fetch_ppa.sh, then run extract_debs.sh.

Hello,
This is a bug of Qt and not of lmms. It is already fixed in the newer
qt-5 version. I already changed to ubuntu vivid and this doesn't happen
for me, but I could reproduce this by using moc-qt4 instead of moc.
The Qt bug report can be found here:

@Spekular... Have you used cygwin before? :)

You're talking running, he's talking building, i.e. *[ 24%] Scanning

You are right in the sense that he will encounter other problems, but the
way our build script works with paths is completely sepa

LMMS didn't support any other than English characters before, so it could be
some code have been forgotten when changed to UTF8. Not sure how much that
helps, Tres probably gave a better answer, but maybe changing to English
characters
This would be super useful for me but I'm sure it's hard if not impossible.

Glad you figured it out and thanks for the update.
If you can find a bug (or room for improvement) our cmake script, please
make a pull request and we'll get it fixed.
I'm not sure how well cmake handles these types of things, so any

Does anyone think it would be worth it for me to find a way (with Cygwin or
Mingw) to build LMMS on windows for debugging? It would make my life easier,
and I'm wondering if it would do the same for anyone else.

Read the code. Try the software. Stop asking stupid questions. Mac is
fine.

Please don't worry about Mac. QT handles these things just fine. In terms
of using the Meta key (aka the Windows key), that discussion can be h

cuts. One thing I can tell you in terms of keys that are the same
regardless of os and keyboard are the ctrl and alt keys.
