I set up log4j a couple of years back on my weblogic servers... xml
config file, html and lf5 appenders, etc, and I was on the chainsaw site
tonight
http://logging.apache.org/log4j/docs/chainsaw.html
and found that the links to documentation and installation docs didn't
take me anywhere. Can

Scott, thank you for your quick reply.
We also defined two separate XMLSocketReceivers and we had the same problem
We used Chainsaw v2 through Java Web Start to see logs (sent by
java.util.logging) and we encountered some problems.
We defined a XMLSocketReceiver with
org.apache.log4j.xml.UtilLoggingXMLDecoder as the decoder.
If we send to this receiver logs from two different applications we see
all logs from
's tab.

I am using the chainsaw v2 web start and log4j 1.2.9. Also using the simple
Socket receiver. All was working fine until recently some update to chainsaw?
No mater what I do I can't receive and display WARN and ERROR. Only DEBUG and
INFO. In my console and file and also the distribution version
Could you send us your server-side (the one with the socket appender)
chainsaw configuration file (or the specifics of how you've set up the
socket receiver)?
cheers,
Paul Smith

Chainsaw V2 can receive events from a socketAppender as long as the event
doesn't contain location info (line/file name/etc).
Using a pattern layout with line/file pattern causes location info to be
created for the event
