Peter,
Ah, the old S3 chipset. That chip isn't supported by
XFree86 4.x. So, you need to use XFree86 3.3.6.
Download the ltsp_x336_S3 package and install it.
Then, in the lts.conf file, set:
XSERVER = S3
That should do it.

I've got an old Dell 75mhz which I'm trying to set up as a workstation

and all goes fine until it tries to start X. With the setting of "auto"
it fails saying that only
PCI and AGP cards can be probed (The card is an on-board S3-Trio 64).
I read the documentation and it sa

Is it possible to access a PDA, digital camera, etc plugged into a

If so, some clues please...

Once removeable media support is added to the ENBD project, that would
be the "best" way to go. If you want to help get that done, you can

Rob,
That's not the problem. He said he is booting to runlevel 3, getting
a bash prompt, then running /tmp/start_ws. That should bring up
Xwindows and give him a login.
The question I have, is whether the screen is completely blank,
or if he has a grey screen with a cursor, but no login screen
Your lts.conf file is specifying "runlevel 3" in the [default] and ws
sections. This will not result in a graphical login for your
workstations. You can either remove the "runlevel" entry completely or
change it to "runlevel 5".
