Hi,
I am trying to load ltsp 3.0 kernel
(vmlinuz-2.4.9-ltsp-5) onto a LNE100TX NIC (chipset
82C168, Netgear FA310TX). I read somewhere that this
NIC has gone through several versions and is somewhat
funky.
when netbooting, the workstation gets the DHCP address
fine, then "hangs" when trying to l

Yep, until you try to parse it on the other end...

Skip,
Cool stuff, but I think it loses its meaning when done like
this. As far as SNMP is concerned, it's just a bunch of text.
I think the right way is to have an LTSP MIB with individual
fields for the datapoints you are interested in.
But, I think the standard Linux MIB already has all of t

Oh, no...I'm just a wanderer bangin' on things until they work. I've been exposed
to SNMP several times and it just never really sank in.

I'm not sure if everyone is aware of this or not, but just in case your not.
Linux Format, an English Linux magazine is featuring an article on LTSP and
diskless computing in April's? Edition. It comes out here in Australia
quite a bit later than in England, so I have not been able to get it yet.
Check out my post and Alessandro Selli's post on 05/05/2002. Hopefully they
will help with the 3com 3c5x9 nic.

Hello all!
I'm making a work to my school about GNU/Linux in
public schools and I'm needing some sites of projects
based on the LTSP . The only one that I found was the
K12LTSP. There are others ? In other countries ? I
already looked for in google :-( .
Thanks!

I am trying to compile the 2.4.18 kernel to work with ltsp. I keep getting
a kernel panic with VFS stating that it cannot mount the root fs. After
some digging I found that it is having a problem mounting the ram disk
during initrd.
The Workstation is an AMD 1.4GHz with 1G of RAM. When I take

What do you mean when you say it doesn't work?
Does dhcp not start when you add the options? This is all documented very
well instructions on the ltsp website.
You should be able to track down the problem.

I think the 486 workstation thing is something to do with the way it was
tagged.
Grab an earlier kernel package to use for that 486 WS.
As for the 3com card.
What doesn't work what errors are you getting etc.

I just cleaned up the /etc/snmpd/snmpd.conf file to keep from distracting anyone.
Here's the file to get you started:

Hi
For a computing classroom,
I wrote a modest Hack For LTSP (i should name it h4ltsp.tar.gz!)
that:
- use a local swap partition (configurable in lts.conf)
- use a local tmp (configurable in lts.conf)
- easy to modify and use any local partition you want on the local IDE
- runs every apps local

Find your lts.conf and modify the settings for your workstation
The defaults are listed at the top
Try using different XSERVER settings
Here are some to try (uncomment the lines to enable them):

Is there any reason why these packages are carried by the Debian package
servers?
If I wanted to include your (ltsp) site in my apt-get sources.list, what
would be the correct line entry?
