Chad,
This is a problem that was fixed a little while ago in
the ltsp_x_core package. I'm guessing you didn't load
the latest.
Anyway, it's easy to fix.
Do this on the server:
ldconfig -r /opt/ltsp/i386
That will rebuild the ld.cache file so that shared libs
can be found.

I'm still struggling trying to get a window manager running.
Some more info: logging into the server via xdm --- no window manager.

I recently got sound working using esd; it never would work with nasd on

In any case the sound will play for a while and then just die...I have

Then I'll have to conclude that I'm doing somethng
wrong.
Could it be that because the server & client's network
are in Half Duplex so it's so slow? Is there anyway to
debug the network performance in the LTSP environment?
Thanks,

Maybe because our cultural differences but I cannot understand what
you're saying.
The file is created only once, when the terminal first boots and then
it's used every time. I suppose you can make a small script that creates
that/those file/s in your server's ram drive every time the server

I think the problem here is with the CPU speed. 133
Mhz. takes a long time just to "create" the NFS_SWAP
file.
Unless I'm doing something very wrong... I find that
P133 Mhz. with only 16 megs doesn't run very
smoothly...

Hello
Can you please tell us why is NFS_Swap NOT great?
You could make a ram

I have 10 terminals with 133 mhz and 16 mb ram, but I
am worrying because I need more ram.
I have found that USE_NFS_SWAP Y is not the greatest
solution ;)

I don't know if anyone else has answered this question, but there are two
ways. .xinitrc will load a predefined user windowmanager. but I believe
that xdm/gdm override that. Technically speaking the user isn't running the

Hi,
I'm assuming that your client is of the same
architecture than the server and that it's powerful
enough to run local apps.
On the server, identify the binaries and libraries
that of the program that you'll run. For the
libraries, you can use ldd to show the library
dependencies. Copy all bina
