Hi,
i found out that some libraries in special /usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6
are not registered, so the keymapping will not work properly

Hi all,
Trying to get things up and running.
Installed the rpm's. (I run RH 9) Downloaded the correct floppy image. I
configured dhcp. I get an IP-address. Exports fine. When loading the
boot kernel from ip-addres:/lts/vmlinuz-something I get dots and
nothing happens.

I have had problems with print queues hanging up when printing straight to
the jet direct (or other printservers), whether it is multiple linux,
windows or a combination of both. I have better (although still not
perfect) results funneling everything through one host before going to the

This may be old news but since I couldn't find while googling I figured I'd
mention it just in case.
First time out of the gate ltsp hung on when trying to load syslogd. On
your host/server you have to run syslogd with the -r option to allow remote
machines to log locally.
Or remove -R {SYSLOG

Is it possible to telnet or ssh into a terminal running local apps &
sound so as to play ogg files through my Hi-Fi?
The machine in question is a laptop with a dead screen & the HD removed
so it is silent & low power. I plan to put it in the back of the hi-fi &
log into it remotely to control it.

Hi Saurav,
Please provide following information which might help in further
diagnosing the problem:
1. What version of LTSP are you running on which OS ?
2. How is your tftp server configured ? (in inetd mode or xinetd mode) ?
3. What all arguments are passed when starting tftp server ?
4. What d
but how to do that. any information.

Hi Saurav,
The file to be loaded by LTSP is configured through /etc/dhcpd.conf and
the syntax is like this:
filename "/lts/vmlinuz-2.4.21-ltsp-1";
This file can be found on the system inside /tftpboot/ directory. Check
if the file exists, if it has different name modify the dhcpd.c

Hi friends
This is the problem I am facing . Fortunately, the dhcpd problem
is solved out :
1.While loading the workstation, it shows the server add as :
169.254.177.197 where as my server add in lts.conf is set as
192.168.0.254 and on issuing 'dhcpd' only i found that it's
listening on eth0 .
I am using the lp_server component from a win2k server with no problems.
You just need to make sure win2k is set to jetdirect and port 9100
(assuming printer0) and it should work fine.

I have run a lab of 30 clients in a school environment (OO, mozilla etc.) with
heavy concurrent load for the last year and I have come to the conclusion
that in my environment based on Athlon 2000 processors the requirements are
one processor and 2GB ram per 15 clients. This allows a comfortable
