Is it possible that you have iptables stopping your tftp connection ?
Do this: iptables -L
see if that shows something other than 3 ACCEPT lines.

Hi, I installed a Debian (unstable) box as an ltsp yesterday and have
had one problem.
with 1 client booting alll works fine, until login and then some times
you get a desktop and sometimes it falls over (lose control of keyboard
and mouse focus). With more clients (4) all goes fine until either

There isn't a sound package for LTSP-4 yet.
I'm surprised you were able to get it working at all with the

I still believe that you will not be able to make this work.
The only advantage in having the modem there, not on your server
is that you save a serial-port on the server.
