Hello,
some time ago I've tried LTSP on Linux PPC at iSeries and it
functioned problem-free.
I simply copied an i386 "/opt/ltsp.." directory onto iSeries Linux,
created /tftpboot containing the x86 kernels and then configured
tftp, nfs and X.
That's all.

Karl

Oh. We've already done that. 2 years ago.
Nothing special. just install the ltsp packages.

Thanks for the response.
Just to clarify, we want to run the LTSP server on the Linux/AS400 LPAR
but the clients will remain X86 based.
Do you see any issues with this configuration as the AS400 is PPC based? I
can't see any real issue as there really is no server side components
executed besides

I am having trouble getting a thin client to use a USB mouse. I've got
it working if I put the following line under the default section of my
lts.conf file:
X_MOUSE_DEVICE = "/dev/input/mouse0"
Then I load the following modules under one of the thin client sections:
[tc001]
MODULE_01 = /kernel/
LTSP's fearless leader, Jim McQuil did an interview with newsforge which
is quite a nice read.

Richard,
Bill Cavelari did a bunch of work on LTSP for PPC. He's not commited it
back to CVS yet, but I know there are tarballs available of the binary
packages.
I think Eric Harrison put the tarballs somewhere on the k12ltsp ftp
site, but i'm not sure where.
Hope that helps,
Jim McQuillan
This looks good!!!
