Probably a bad floppy. Make another one.
Or EPROM not programmed correctly.

Daniel,
I would think that running LTSP clients across a WAN is a bad idea for several
reasons:
1) If the WAN goes down, none of the remote clients can do anything (i.e.
wordprocessing, spreadsheets, games, etc.)
2) High speed WAN's usually have high recurring costs.
3) I believe the sweet spot
Basic stuff.
You must have a box running your Windows Terminal Server Service enabled in
one of your Windows Servers (NT, 2K, 2K3), it could be a stand alone server.
Setup users in the Remote Desktop Users group.
Your lts.conf must have at least SCREEN_01 = rdesktop .
50 light users will be just

Hi!
At the school district im an admin at there are talks about implementing a
large scale LTSP solution. We have been testing succesfully on one
school but only with about 15 clients. The latest bid is to have one big
central server. It will be serving a cuple of other schools over 1 gbit

I have, finally, installed LTSP4. And I have only one
thinclient connected to the server. But I've realized
that the video screen in the TC is not ok and there is
a lot of delay, eg. while moving the mouse or open
some program.
What could it be?

You can hand out hostnames as part of the DHCP process:
host ws001 {
hardware ethernet 00:00:00:00:00:00
option root-path "XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:/opt/ltsp41/i386";
fixed-address XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX;
filename "/lts/2.4.26-ltsp-1/pxelinux.0";

LTSP works. Is there a way I can keep the host name instead of changing to the
hostname as localhost (of my server). I need to do this for 2 reasons..

Rick,
64-bit linux shouldn't make any difference.
When you ran through the grayscreen document, what did you find when you
did:
netstat -anp | grep ":177 "

Rick,
With LTSP-4 and newer, you shouldn't need to set the XSERVER to anything
other than 'auto'.
You might be running into a problem with getltscfg. there was a bug in
ltsp-4.0, that has been fixed in 4.1.
You can get the updated getltscfg program by doing this:

Matt,
I don't think you can do this and use the DHCP from MS. I don't think the
kind of functionality that ltsp wants from dhcp isn't supported in MS's
dhcp server. When MS needed to distribute boot files for their Remote
Installation Service, the pxe piece was included as part of the RIS serve
