My understanding is that ENBD has a number of enhancements, including
improved reliability.
But I'm 100% sympathetic to the desire to stick with stock kernels.

My understanding is the ENBD is some enhancements to work with removable
media. And, i'm pretty sure that ENBD isn't in the stock kernel.
I'm ONLY interested in a solution that doesn't require modifying the
server kernel.

FWIW, you may be better off with enbd, rather than nbd.

In fact the 533 will work fine! Many thin-clients come with the VIA 533

Peter,
Thanks, that's excellent work. I'm very interested to see how it works
on a thin client. This could completely solve our NFS-Swap issue.
Jim.

Dan,
in the wireless package for LTSP, there's a file called 'syslinux.cfg'.
It's on the floppy image, so you can edit the file, and add 'DPORT=1067'
to the end of the 'append' line.

Christoffer,
Yes, In ltsp-4.1, we put all the kernel building into the LBE. But, it
turns out to be a major pain in the butt to build kernels that way.
So, we're working on a solution that is more like ltsp_initrd_kit.
It'll be a couple of months before that is ready to go though.

Mathias,
I have a VIA Epia mini-itx based system (533MHz Eden fanless CPU) with
128MB memory.
It boots by PXE perfectly. It has a usb printer, scanner and pen tablet
attached. The on-board sound and video work. I have had issues with

I'm looking to get some wireless clients going. Since I'm sharing a Windoze network infrastructure, the K12LTSP server is running dhcp functionality through ports 1067 and 1068.
I've downloaded the wireless package from LTSP.org but it's obviously configured for port 67. Does anyone know wher
Hi!
Is there any plans of a ltsp_initrd_kit for the 2.6 kernel?
I know there is a issue with the 2.6 kernel and nfs swap, but it would be great to use the 2.6 kernel on the clients due to the better support of 802.11g cards

Sreenath,
You really need to provide us with more details, such as:
1) What kind of video card/chipset do you have in the client?
2) What are you setting 'XSERVER' to in the lts.conf file?
3) Why not use LTSP-4.1?
