I have been using LTSP 4.1 with pretty good success for the past 3 months at
the high school I teach at (thanks to everyone involved). My system logs
are constantly showing the following 2 types of errors though. I have
searched for both errors in the archives with limited success (but I often

I am wondering has any one successfully made programs like mplayer or

There the permissions problem comes up.

Brad,
I don't know what you can do about that 2nd nic issue. It's hard to deal
with, if they are both the same.
As for your myth tv stuff, use google, and search for 'mythtv ltsp', you
should find lots of info about how to do what you are trying to do.

Hello,
yesterday I tried to setup LTSP 4.2 on one of my production servers,
but I was running into trouble using local disk access.
Only the root user could manage to setup his shares. All other users
failed.
I'm using SMBLDAP as backend server with home dirs mounted over nfs.

Brad,
If you have 2 of the same nics in the client, that's probably going to
cause you massive grief.
You can use the 2nd card to do the initial boot, but once the kernel
starts running, then the /linuxrc script is going look at the PCI bus for
the network card, and use the first one it finds.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I just need to create initrd and

I need a suggestion, I'm thinking about an LTSP way to make up a 25

You haven't told us anything about your clients, other than they have PXE

Also, you stated specifically that the PXE clients are having a problem.
Does this also mean that you have Etherboot clients that are working
