There's lots of factors that contribute to the performance of a thin
client. Using XDMCP instead of SSH *s
So if I end up disabling SSH by setting SCREEN_07 = startx and enable
XDMCP connections within GDM, this will improve the performance of the

Todd,
SSH is used by default with LTSP-5 but you can change to xdmcp by setting:
SCREEN_07 = startx
Just make sure you enable remote xdmcp in gdm (or kdm)
The reason you need to set SCREEN_07, is because the first 6 screens are
taken up by getty processes.
We're still working on that par

Not really sure. I think they're redundant now as rather than the client

ran:
chmod +x /etc/X11/Xsession

Still have issues with
the /opt/ltsp//etc/ssh/ssh_known_hosts file as
ltsp-update-sshkeys does it incorrectly and also the file is overwritten
if the server reboots for whatever reason.

On the Debian package of ltsp5 I was able to just hit Alt+CTR
I've been running LTSP 4.1 for over a year now and love it. I tried
upgrading to LTSP 5, but the video resolution was too low. In order to
fix it, I copied the lts.conf file over from my 4.1 directory and
rebooted the client, but there was no change. To further troubleshoot
the problem I cha
