Guys, If you are having video problems on a newer distro, always make sure compiz is disabled on the server first. 9 times out of 10, it is the source of the problem. You can disable it on the server with this: if compiz is giving you problems, one way to disable it for all users is: sudo

got another problem though. whenever a user opens a publisher document on a thin client a .lnk file is created for the document. so if i open mydoc.pub a file mydoc.pub.lnk is created and is not removed when i I´m not completly sure but isn´t it the same that happens on a Windows machine

@Zsolt : my monitor seems to support 54 kHz HSYNC, so I've tried : X_HORZSYNC = 30-55 and X_HORZSYNC=30-55 and X_HORZSYNC=30.0-55.0 but no one works (I've always the same Xorg.7.log file). I've tried XSERVER=vesa too, but with no much result @Gadi : no changement Thanks Le 06/10/2010
