I've adjusted /proc/sys/fs/file-max to 65536 several months ago.
Now I want to reboot my LTSP server on Sunday nights.
Maybe it'll help.

I can shutdown workstation using 'shutdown' utility,
but the power of workstation is still on.
Is it possible to use poweroff instead of
shutdown?
I tried it and failed. This command doesn't do
anything with workstation.
Just quits without any message.

The problem with KDE and Java has been solved!
Java 1.4.0 and KDE (and RedHat 7.2) works fine.
(Compared to Java 1.3.1 / Java 1.2.2 and KDE).

I'm trying to run Java program in standard KDE environment
on LTSP client.
When I try to print from Java application (that's argoUML.jar)
the 'Print Dialog' window has very small size (5mmx10mm).
I can't expand it or do anything else with it.
Title screen for this Java application is also tiny.

I have KDE environment.
When I try to reboot client using power off/power on sequence
without closing KDE-session first; after reboot I have
gray screen with a cross-shape mouse cursor and I have to reboot
client again.
I know it's always better to logout and I always do,
but we have about 100 us
I've got occasional Kernel Panic during client's boot up.
The ratio of successful attempts to unsuccessful is about 2:1.

Why my diskless stations don't have names?
My diskless workstations boot from boot server.
When I login to the diskless station
and type something like
uname -n
the answer is an empty string.
We have DNS server. I can ping (or telnet) workstation
using another node by name or by IP-address.

I have 16 work stations booted from boot server.
When 17th station tries to boot from boot server,
then after downloading boot-image and running through
boot-script it finally tries to start X-windows.
