Hello Edmarcos,
This is not impossible, but is quite a real challenge, as you'll need
to specify, for each workstation, which kernel will be used --- what
can be a real pain. So you'll need to identify each station to the
DHCP server, and create a host entry for it.

There shall be no problem with the wifi connection, but you can have
trouble with these PCs if using LTSP5, as the minimum requirements
changed dramatically from LTSP4.2.

Hi Helmut,
LTSP 5 uses lts.conf in /var/lib/tftpboot/i386, as stated by Keith. The
file in /opt/ltsp/i386/etc is just a dummy file, and there's a lot of
problems you have if you try using it.

Hi Erwin,
As long as you have enough RAM on the server, you don't need to worry with swap.
The hard question here is, how much RAM is enough? With LTSP, is
harder to say, as you need to multiply the expected comsumption of one
desktop user by the number of simultaneous users.
The swap space is

Hi Michael,
Try to login with your user directly on the server. It seems to me
that you have any error in your login (said, your home dir is
inaccessible, your session manager isn't working, etc).

If you get to the login screen, all the basic configuration of LTSP is
correctly set.
Maybe you're getting an error starting the session manager (gnome?).
How much memory does you server have?

Hi Nadav,
Your idea is interesting as a study, but, doesn't it comes against the
idea of a low-cost, low-powered terminal?
And think about the load that 2 screens may impose in the network
segment used by this terminal, put aside the high cpu load that may
render a P1/P2 useless.

Hi Fajar,
If you do use KDE, you can enter KControl, option System
Administration, then Login Manager, Admin Mode.
Open Shutdown tab, and in field Allow Shutdown/Local, choose Only root.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the idea on using FreeNX on ltsp isn't
the gain on speed, but the saving in bandwidth. Think about a
network of hundreths of thin clients, and the bandwidth spent with
them, and youl'l now what I'm saying.
Isnt the NX protocol supposed to give you near native speed
I strongly suggest you to not use the same network address for two
interfaces in the same machine.
So, if you have eth0 set to 192.168.1.6, you should change the
addresses of the terminals to, i.e., 192.168.2.x.
Note that this arrangement can bring you problems on configuring DHCP,

What you propose is changeing the keyboard layout for
