Actually, those are usually a decent controller by Adaptec or Symbios. But
what do you do if you want hardware RAID or the controller fails. They also
add too much expense to the motherboard.

I have started a project called restopos on sourceforge but I haven't had a
chance to put any files up. A few machines died and I lost almost everything
(including a bunch of autocad work!) and I am in the process of moving. It
might take me a bit to get back to it.
