Hi,
lxc provides 'lxc-execute -n ' tool.
Maybe starting whole session with this would be the solution for lxc+ltsp?
Where could I hook up to do this?

Wojtek

The configuration of dsh (e.g. creating groups) is stright and easy.
On Debian/Ubuntu 'dsh' is availible in official repos as package.
So if You want to shutdown a group of TCs and you want to keep your
security level high maybe the dsh is the solution.

You try to use "vesa" driver.

Don't you have graphics with accelerated drivers?
Maybe it is the problem?

Hello,
whole script.
It kills processes of logged-out users.
On our system it runs every few minutes and works efficient enough.
Maybe not the best solution, but works for us :] We do not allow users
to run own demonized processes.
We use lt...@hardy (ubuntu repo package).

The CompressionLevel was 3, but I still do not know if it matters.
We couldn't notice any difference in 'feeling', but we didn't use any
measurement device. It is just our subjective impression.

I think Patrick meant the changes from my Email "Re: [Ltsp-discuss]

That's why we stopped using NX, but we look forward and think about
testing 'freenx'.
I think our overall experience with compressed SSH is positive, but of
course it depends on the situation.

3. The only problem we know are USB-sticks :) You have to sync the
drive before you take it out. Some users does not wait, and I think
their files get corrupted. We sync the drive after the
gzip CompressionLevel<=3.
Do You still think it isn't good idea to turn the compression on?

We use LTSP5/UbuntuHardy.

you have to remember, that the programs 'reboot/shutdown/poweroff'
and their libs have to be cached, before the connection breaks
Now it works fine: even if somebody does something stupid like turn off
a switch or disconnects a cable.

We suppose our network closes mount-connections. We use mostly
enterprise-class network components (Cisco 6500 Series).
Our LTSP system runs well. We wanted to share our experience.

Is there a clean way to change the parameters of the default nbd-connection?

Hello once again,
is there a way to start the 'nbd-client' on the client with the
parameter '-persist'? Maybe that can solve my problem?

Hello,
yes, we do have this line in /etc/hosts.allow
We still work on this (wireshark etc.) :/
Are other tcp-/udp-ports then 69 and 2000 needed?
Any other ideas?

I already wrote an email about this error, but now I deliver some details.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I had the same problem: whatever I wrote in lts.conf, it was ignored by
the client. I use LTSP5 on Ubuntu 8.04 Server.
The problem was: the client asked for lts.conf from wrong directory.
Try to sniff (wireshark, etc.) the network to get sure, if it is not
your problem too.

Wojtek
Hello,
is there a 'recommended' way to use Usb-Storage with Rdesktop?
The 'rdesktop' provides the '-r' Parameter, but after plugging-in the
device does not mount automatically.
Best regards
