Hi list,
regarding the sound of this client I found out (Knoppix live CD, alsaconf)
that it has a built in cs4236 chip.
So I used
SMODULE_01 = snd-cs4236
SMODULE_02 = snd-pcm-oss
in lts.conf (and followed the instructions in the wiki: sound, cards and
work in progress).
This leads to a pop in the
I have the Dell GX620 and here is what I did:
SOUND = Y
SOUND_DAEMON = "esd"
VOLUME = 75
SMODULE_01 = snd-intel8x0
SMODULE_02 = snd-pcm-oss
and for my Dell GX280:
SOUND = Y
SOUND_DAE

Hi list,
I know that I recently wrote something like "this client works out of the
box" but that was before I wanted to get the sound to work ...
Problem: Neither the sound card is autodetected nor does the i810_audio
module work.
Does anyone accidently know the right module to specify in lts.conf

I run several Dell OptiPlex GX110 systems with LTSP 4.2 update 4 with
PXE (and previously universal Etherboot floppies). I just have to set
X_VIDEORAM = 8192 to get X to start. IIRC, my BIOS is newer---may be
A08? Otherwise, everything has been fine except sometimes Firefox
crashes X, and reduc

Thanks, I've read this, but I don't find the /linuxrc file to change the nfs
mount

I just tried a gx110 with bios version A07 with a k12ltsp 5 (ltsp 4.2) server
and the
client booted with no problems. I used the universal etherboot floppy on the
client,
since the bios has no PXE support.

Several years ago I had 10 GX110s as LTSP (v3) terminals. The onboard NICs
were flakey, and getting the right etherboot driver took some trial and error
but they finally did work. Today I would try booting from the universal LTSP
CD-ROM boot disk.
The video *did* require AGPGART support. If mem
Quite interesting. Mine run right away. Do you updated the BIOS to the
latest version?

Hello!
I bought a dell optiplex gx110 machine, and I have two problems with it:
1. The ethernet controller installed on the mainboard (3com 3c905c-tx/tx-m)
doesn't want to work. During boot it says that the nfs server not responding.
I put an other ethernet card in the machine, and this boots we
